Don Sebastiani & Sons has completed the production upgrade at its Napa Valley winery in a bid to cope with demand in the (B2B) business-to-business market.

According to the company, the upgrades include 750 ml glass bottling line, bulk wine storage facilities, three-liter bag-in-box filling equipment, a new water filtering, softening and chlorination system, and new motion-activated, fluorescent lighting.

Don Sebastiani & Sons operations director John Nicolette said the speedy growth of custom services over the last three years has necessitated the company to build a better facility to expand its business.

"(The plant) provides the perfect location for us to enhance our custom service offerings and strengthen our client relationships at the same time," Nicolette said.

The new bottling line with an annual capacity of 2.5 million cases, which was introduced by Scholle Packaging, can handle multiple wine closures, which include natural and synthetic cork, screwcap and Zork.

Sebastiani wine company, formerly known as the Don Sebastiani & Sons Napa Winery, since its inception in 2001, produces 1.8 million cases of wine per year at the site.
